The Jewish people do not exist, it is an invented nation

Shlomo Sand, professor of European History at the University of Tel Aviv, has just published "When and how the Jewish people were invented", where he questions some principles of the official Zionist history. 

The book has remained four weeks on the list of best sellers in Israel, something Sand does not quite understand. In return he has had to pay the toll of receiving anonymous where he is threatened and insulted, calling him kelev natzi masria (stinking Nazi dog) and other niceties. However, he does not seem very worried. The book contains two theses that in the past had a certain predicament, also among Zionist historians, but which have now been shelved: that the current Jews come from pagan peoples who converted to Judaism far from Palestine, and therefore do not descend from the ancient Jews, and that the Arab Palestinians are the only descendants of the ancient Jews.
