Introduction to the book "Peoples, Drugs and Serpents"
Danilo Antón They close their eyes and light hundreds of curvilinear designs, elongated snakes of multiple colors. Coiled figures and striking tonalities follow each other. Time passes very slowly. The mind has illuminated and its components flash expressing messages whose contents and senses seem to want to decipher the mysteries of consciousness. Some curves are organized assuming a larger serpentine shape, which more closely observed turns out to be an identical and complementary pair curled around itself. The great serpent speaks. It says things. Wise concepts, which feel ancient like the world. It brings us to a new reality. It reduces the ego to its most minute expression. Anxiety calms down It is the purification. We open our eyes. The sky is studded with stars. There are many bright spots. Many more than we usually see. Distant sounds of frogs and insects are heard. The perfume of the night invades us to the deepest. Then the dream. We slept soundly and the next day we woke up different. In the night of dreams we have gained in humility and wisdom. The scene has been repeated again and again, for thousands of generations. The sacred mushrooms collected with the full moon, after the first rains, in the spring, were the ritual food that for a long time nurtured the ancient ceremony. The holy women and men set out on journeys into the world of truths to call the spirits, in the form of colorful birds that bring beauty and healing. The songs and dances happen all night. At dawn everyone sleeps. The rattles, flutes and drums are silent. As the sun rises a huge flock of multicolored birds approaches, covering the sky and singing unlikely chirps. The prayers of the night have brought them. The new day will be harmonious and prosperous. There will be peace.
